This was a very busy weekend for us as we celebrated Jason’s Birthday, his cousin Cathleen’s wedding celebration & Easter Sunday with my family as we road tripped from the Bay Area to Sacramento.
Birthday:
Let’s start with my husband Jason’s Birthday dinner. I surprised him after work on Friday and took him to a favorite restaurant of ours called, The House, in San Francisco. They have delicious Asian American cuisine and it’s also baby-friendly. It was also Good Friday, which meant we couldn’t eat meat and this restaurant was a good choice because they have amazing seafood.
Here is what we ate:
The dinner was delicious & we recommend the Sea Bass to anyone who comes to The House even though the photo doesn’t do it any justice. We ate around 5:30pm & had reservations as they are recommended & brought Dahlia along with us. Strollers are a little tough to wheel in because this is a smaller restaurant. So, we didn’t bring one and just sat her in the high chair.
Wedding Celebration:
Next up on our whirlwind weekend was to head to Sacramento to celebrate the recent marriage of Jason’s cousin Cathleen to her new husband Chris.
We brought the doggies along with us for the ride & decided to stay in a hotel that was both dog-friendly & baby-friendly. We chose the Citizen Hotel and boy was it stunning. It is an old restored building and it gleams and shows well as you will see here in the photos below. Best of all, they don’t charge anything extra for the dogs and you can have a maximum of 2 dogs. They also had a pack n’ play for Dahlia that didn’t cost extra either!

Their wedding was glamorous and beautiful all at the same time, just like the bride. This was a super fun wedding celebration with good food and great people! Congratulations again to the newlyweds! We had a blast!
Easter Sunday in Old Sacramento:
Old Sacramento is a great destination for both young and old to explore & understand the history of not only Sacramento, but for California as well. We met with my family on Easter Sunday to have brunch & walked around the area into toy shops & candy stores among other places and even stopped to watch the street entertainers. I love that they’ve preserved this historic part of town. It really brings you back to what it was like back then. There is even a couple of museums you can go to like the Railroad Museum & the History Museum, which we went to.
Hope you had a great holiday and have an even better week! Cheers!
Happy birthday, Jason! Joanne, thanks for sharing your Easter weekend activities. I love seeing all the pics of The House, the wedding, and Old Sacramento.
