Foodie Friday:  6 SF Eats on the Peninsula

Move over San Francisco — it looks like the Peninsula’s got some good eats too. Oh wait, on second thought, they’re actually the same ones. Womp womp.

That’s right, the Peninsula has slowly become the little brother to the City’s restaurant scene. In fact, every time you turn your head, a recognizable SF restaurant pops up. Maybe it’s the weather, parking (debatable), rent (definitely not), or the fact that the tech industry has expanded to that side of the Bay. Whatever it is, it’s definitely not a bad thing. The more the merrier, right?

Right! So, here is a list of six San Francisco restaurants you may be surprised to find on the Peninsula:

Cha Cha Cha Cuba (Cha Cha Cha in SF)

112 S. B Street, San Mateo, Ca

650-347-2900

Yes, though the name might be slightly different than the originals in the Mission or on Haight St., you can now get equally buzzed off of their infamous Sangria in San Mateo, too. But here you can walk a couple of doors down to get a CREAM ice cream sandwich also. Score!
Pizzeria Delfina

1444 Burlingame Ave, Burlingame, Ca

650-288-1041

Yes, this is the same Pizzeria Delfina that you can find in the Mission, except this one has FREE, yes free, parking in the back and oh my goodness, online ordering, delivery via Door Dash, and not to mention lots of outdoor dining for warmer months.

Original Joe’s

11 Glenwood Drive, Daly City, Ca

650-755-7400

A neighborhood gem when it closed down as Westlake Joe’s, Original Joe’s (just like the one in Northbeach) has been revitalized with its jaw-dropping mod new look. They currently aren’t accepting reservations, but fear not, my friends, they have an awesome bar area where you can order any drink and/or appetizer and feel as if you’ve travelled back in time.

Pacific Catch

243 South B Street, San Mateo, Ca

650-389-2482

A seafood favorite in the Inner Sunset and in the Marina, Pacific Catch opened up right next to the very busy movie theater in downtown San Mateo. While the rest of the Bay Area has recently been on a poke kick, Pacific Catch has always had Poke on their menu and more.

Gott’s Roadside

855 El Camino Real #65, Palo Alto, Ca

650-326-1000

Yes, this popular Ferry Building burger joint has another location nestle in Palo Alto. Although this location doesn’t have the people watching or the views of the San Francisco outpost, it does have the foodand booze. Speaking of booze, they also have a location in Napa as well.

Limon Rotisserie (Coming Soon!)

1101 Burlingame Ave, Burlingame, Ca

Though the sign out front says, “Opening Spring 2016,” we all know good things come to those who wait. Limon has always been a reliable favorite in the City with their delicious rotisserie chicken and sauces — can’t forget the sauces. We’ll all be breathing a sigh of relief when they open late Summer or Fall 2016 (really anytime before Winter 2016 is fine with us). There’s also another location in Walnut Creek said to open sometime soon, too.
