So, I am fortunate enough that I have clients that treat me very well. I received a gift card for Coqueta SF that is located on the Embarcadero in San Francisco on Pier 5. I had made reservations via OpenTable for 5 pm for 2 + baby the night before and that seemed to be the only reservation left. I also looked over the menu previously and had no idea this was Michael Chiarello’s restaurant until we went into the restaurant itself and saw his cookbook by the hostess stand. That was a great surprise and below is my review.
Review: Coqueta | San Francisco | Michael Chiarello
Website: http://coquetasf.com/
Ambiance: Rustic, Warm & Cozy
Kid-Friendly: Sort of. It’s definitely possible since we brought Dahlia though the restaurant is small. There were also 2 other children in the restaurant while we were there. They did, however, accommodate our small SUV-like infant stroller.
Cuisine: Spanish Tapas
Price: $$$
Rating: 4 out of 5
Service: Excellent
I gave Coqueta a 4 mainly because their portions were smaller than I thought they were especially for price. We ordered the $38 pork shoulder that in previous pictures looked like a big portion but was about 4-5 oz. when we got it. *womp-womp-womp* Besides that, everything was really good and tasty. They had excellent house made cocktails and my favorite tapa was the “sunny side up” huevo (egg). YUM!
Here is what we ordered: (listed as shown)
- Barça Gintonic
- Patatas Bravas
- Croquetas de Pollo
- Ensalada de Kale
- “Sunny side-up” Huevo w/ Shrimp
- Bikini Brioche
- Pluma – Iberico Pork Shoulder Loin
- Wild & Cultivated Mushrooms
- Churro ‘Fantasia’
