Happy Friday!
I loooove me some tea. I’m definitely not a coffee drinker and every time I try I end up with a massive headache and shaky hands because caffeine and I just don’t mix. So, tea it is! And while the boba craze is still present out here in the Bay Area, I actually prefer a good ol’ hot pot of tea that I can enjoy slowly.
During my month off in December, I wanted to do things with Dahlia that I’ve always wanted to do; just her and I. So, yes tea time was definitely on my list. While I researched a few other tea houses which I’ve still yet to try, I landed on Leland Tea Company in Burlingame (also located in San Francisco) as most places usually take reservations. Here, we were able to walk in though we did eat outside and lucky for us it was a nice day out.
Dahlia was the perfect date. She ordered from the kids menu and got the ‘Child’s Tea’ which came with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, a cookie and hot chocolate.
I ordered the ‘Tea Lunch’ and got a delicious salmon salad sandwich with a tasty salad, scone, and a pot of tea with complimentary tea pot refill. I had the herbal princess tea blend which was a mix of hibiscus flowers, rose hips, orange, and apple pieces blended together to create a cornucopia of fruit flavor and flower aroma. My lunch was as perfect as my date; sometimes the best lunches are the simple ones.
Overall, Dahlia and I had a great experience together. We enjoyed the outdoor patio space and telling her how my tea pot worked. Now, she tries to set up tea parties at home on her own kids table.
Tea time is the perfect outing for a date whether it’s with your kids, girlfriends, or significant other. It’s also a perfect setting for a Valentine’s Day lunch.
As she grows, I’d love to try out more since we’re lucky that the Bay Area has an abundance of tea houses. Below are some of the ones I’ve heard great things about…
