Happy ‘Make it’ Monday!
Last Tuesday evening, Dahlia made our way to the San Bruno Public Library to their Food Smarts Nutrition Workshop they’ve held for the last 12 weeks. It was the last day of the workshop and I was excited because we were going to make Avocado Chocolate Pudding. 🙂 I was intrigued because for one, I love avocados and secondly because I love chocolate and I couldn’t fathom mixing the two together to create a healthy dessert, but that’s just what we did.
Avocado Chocolate Pudding:
INGREDIENTS:
Serves 4
- 3 Medium Avocados (mashed into food processor with S-Blade)
- 3/4 cup 100% pure maple syrup (grade B preferred; can also use 1/2 cup agave sweetener)
- 6 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powders
- sliced fruits of your choice for toppings
What You’ll Need:
- High Speed Food Processor (S-Blade)
- Spatula
- Bowl
- Spoon
We started off by slicing up our toppings, bananas and strawberries. Naturally, all the kids got to do this part and it’s always fun to see them trying something so hands on.
Next, the kids gathered around the food processor to spoon in the avocado. Then we added in the maple syrup (I used agave at home which you probably need less of than the recipe calls for) and unsweetened cocoa powder.
MIX in the food processor and that’s it.
Lastly, add in any fruits you’d like for topping and your pudding parfait is complete!

This was by far the easiest healthy dessert I’ve ever made and if you serve this to people, they’d probably never guess it was avocado! My love for the avocado will never change and now I have a new found appreciation for this favored creamy fruit as a chocolatey dessert, it has only gotten stronger. And a bonus is that even my picky toddler enjoyed every bit of it! SCORE!
We also made this at home and it was just as easy!
Enjoy and happy eating!
