This weekend, I hosted another “Craft Night” at my house for some friends/co-workers. We decided to do it on a Friday night and it worked out perfectly!
We decided on painting mini canvases this time. I bought these 3×3 mini canvases for $4.99 for a pack of 4 and mini easels for the same price from Michael’s Arts & Crafts Store. I also supplied the paint, brushes, some snacks, and of course, wine. The other ladies also brought snacks to share with the group.
So, I set up the dining room into our craft space and covered the table to avoid any paint on our table. I set the table up with paints, brushes, the mini canvases, plastic cups to clean brushes and cupcake liners to put the paint in or mix colors.
Here we are busy working on our masterpieces…
Finally, after a few hours of researching what to paint on Pinterest, chatting, snacking, painting, drinking, playing with Dahlia and the dogs, we finished!
Everyone came up with different ideas for their paintings. Some were simple and some were more complex. Some people winged it, while others were more precise and drew with pencil before they started painting.
Lastly, because I hosted and took forever to figure out what I wanted to paint, I didn’t finish my painting until everyone had left & the baby went to sleep 🙂
So, here is what I came up with…
TA DA! Super simple and understated 🙂
My painting reminds me of my world at the moment & also makes me smile whenever I look at it now. The mini canvases make you more aware of what you’re painting and to be more precise and pay attention to detail.
Everyone’s paintings came out amazing and I am always surprised to see what everyone comes up with! We’re already thinking about what the next craft will be next month. So, April, here we come!
